exclusively on simplifying access to patient information.

Since our founding in 2000, we have provided systems
integration consulting services to a customer base that
includes over 100 healthcare facilities across North
America. As we started to address the information exchange
needs of IDNs, we found that traditional approaches
to systems integration did not scale well due to their
cost and complexity, so we decided to take a new approach.
In 2005, we began developing our GRHID™ technology,
an enterprise search solution that enables the caregivers
and patients in IDNs, RHIOs, and other health networks
to access the information they need on demand. Our goals
for information access:

We have seen many convoluted approaches to an interoperable
electronic health record - long, expensive, custom implementations
with millions of dollars in technology and dozens of
consultants. Symbiont strives to provide the simplest,
yet most affordable, flexible, and scalable solution
for regional health information exchange and interoperability.
While spending nearly all of their careers in healthcare
systems integration, our founders have gained practical
experience from implementing thousands of interfaces
and working with every major HIS vendor.
Lloyd Deviney - President
Lloyd has more than 13 years' experience in healthcare
systems integration and information systems development
with Symbiont, Siemens Medical Solutions and Healthcare
Management Systems. He holds a bachelor's in math from
Vanderbilt University. Lloyd manages Symbiont's product
development.
David Rasmussen - Director of Business Development
Before joining Symbiont, David managed healthcare systems
integration projects for Siemens Medical Solutions.
Responsible for managing Symbiont's professional services,
he has grown that business to serve more than 100 hospitals.
David is an MBA graduate of Utah State University.
Brian Staheli - Director of Finance and Administration
Brian brings more than seven years' experience in healthcare
systems integration project management to his role at
Symbiont. Formerly with Siemens Medical Solutions, Brian
also holds an MBA from Utah State University.
